Afro-Latino Association for Policy & Advocacy (ALAPA) is a nonprofit formed to create awareness of the unique cultural impact of Afro-Latinos, create programs, and support public policy positively impacting Blacks, Latinos, and other people of color. Through programs and advocacy, ALAPA works to support families and strengthen communities through work in higher education, education, immigration, civic engagement, economic empowerment, health education, the environment, and other pertinent issues. In addition, we work to offer an education on who Afro-Latinos are the unique place Afro-Latinos have in our society through seminars, conferences, and other venues. ALAPA also engages communities by offering individuals opportunities to be ambassadors to the organization. As ambassadors to ALAPA, distinguished people represent the image of the organization. In these roles, ambassadors to ALAPA work to find out what issues effect their community while working with ALAPA and community representatives to become change-makers. see our programs
